UPSL NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Newport FC’s Jack Slavik

Newport FC Forward Had Four Goals in 5-1 Victory

April 9, 2018 – Los Angeles – Newport FC forward Jack Slavik has been named UPSL National Player of the Week. A native of Huntington Beach (Calif.), Slavik scored four goals in a 5-1 victory over Anaheim FC in a UPSL Championship Western Conference game on Saturday, April 7, 2018.

Slavik started and played 75 minutes for Newport FC (3-0-1 overall), which moved into fifth on the UPSL Championship Western Conference table with the victory.

Slavik was the Sunset League Offensive Player of the Year as a senior at Huntington Beach Edison High School in 2015, and played two seasons at Orange Coast College (CCCAA) before joining Newport FC. He currently has nine goals and one assist in four games this season.

The UPSL National Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by members of the league and journalists covering the UPSL.
