UPSL NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: ISA Boca Raton’s Thales Barreto

ISA Boca Raton’s Midfielder Had One Assist and Seven Steals in Second UPSL Game

September 5, 2018 – Los Angeles – International Soccer Association (ISA) Boca Raton midfielder Thales Barreto has been named UPSL National Player of the Week. A native of Itabirinha, Brazil, Barreto assisted on the eventual game-winner in a 4-1 victory over Sporting Miami FC in a UPSL 2018 Fall Season Southeast Conference Florida South Division game on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018.

Barreto started and played 90 minutes for ISA Boca Raton (2-0-0 overall), which moves to the top of the Florida South Division table win the victory.

Barreto has never officially played for a club until joining ISA Boca Raton. He had seven steals and completed 55 passes in the win over Sporting Miami FC, and “enforced our possession style of play and allowed us to transition into the attack very quickly," said ISA Boca Raton Head Coach Anthony Olischar.

The UPSL National Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by members of the league and journalists covering the UPSL.
